Fresh from introducing the latest generation of the iconic MPV last September, Kia PH distributor ACMobility announced that the Kia Carnival in the form of a Turbo HEV will be made available next month. Having a hybrid variant marks a significant evolution for Kia’s longest-running nameplate in the country, transitioning from a diesel-only offering to redefine performance and efficiency. The Turbo HEV delivers dynamic performance, smoother acceleration, and a quieter ride, all while achieving impressive fuel economy.
With the Carnival Turbo HEV, Kia aims to provide Filipino families an “Everyday First Class” experience. The vehicle combines innovative technologies with the versatility that families need. Following the successful launches of the EV6 and EV9, the new Carnival Turbo HEV continues Kia’s commitment to electrification, bringing eco-friendly performance to the forefront. Brian Buendia, CEO of Kia Philippines, emphasizes that this model combines luxury, efficiency, and advanced hybrid technology, offering a more connected driving experience.
Under the hood, the Carnival Turbo HEV features a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline hybrid engine, producing an impressive 245 PS and 367 Nm of torque—making it one of the most powerful options in its class. Power is delivered to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission, ensuring both smooth and efficient performance. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with ventilated rear disc brakes for enhanced braking performance and stability.
The Carnival Turbo HEV retains its bold styling with the distinctive Tiger Nose Grille and 4-cube LED headlights. Inside, the vehicle boasts a 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a six-speaker sound system. Comfort is prioritized with luxurious features such as a heads-up display, digital rearview mirror, and a rotary-style shifter, while acoustic paneling helps minimize road noise.
Safety features are a key focus, with Kia’s DriveWise suite including Smart Cruise Control, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and a 360-degree Surround View Monitor. The Carnival also comes with an 8-airbag system and advanced stability controls for added peace of mind.
Set to launch in all 40 Kia showrooms nationwide on December 1, 2024, the Kia Carnival Turbo HEV is currently available for pre-selling at a price of PHP 3,488,000. The model is offered in a variety of stunning colors, including Aurora Black Pearl and Ceramic Silver. Kia provides a comprehensive warranty of 5 years or 160,000 km for the vehicle, as well as additional coverage for the electric motor and battery, ensuring customers can travel with confidence. With 24/7 roadside assistance included, Kia reinforces its commitment to customer support.
