Senator Bong Go called on the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to ensure personnel presence at all Malasakit Centers.
During a Senate Health Committee hearing on December 18, he emphasized the need for representatives from PCSO in these centers to facilitate assistance for indigent patients.
Go pointed out that the current staffing of 40 personnel across 166 operational Malasakit Centers is insufficient, violating the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019.
He stressed the importance of making access to help easier, particularly for those unable to utilize online services.
“To truly help, there must always be a way,” Go stated, reminding that public funds are at stake and citizens should feel government support.
He urged the establishment of plantilla personnel to ensure continuous service at each center, aligning with the law’s intent to create a one-stop shop for government medical assistance programs.
