The stage is ready for the “8th Samahang Plaridel Golf 2024,” slated for Tuesday, November 26, at the Villamor Golf Club, Pasay City.
This one-day friendly competition brings together media personalities, government leaders, and private sector representatives for a day of camaraderie and friendly competition.
Registration opens at 5:00 AM and closes at 6:30 AM, with the ceremonial tee-off starting promptly at 6:30 AM. Players will then proceed to their assigned holes, with the shotgun start kicking off at 7:00 AM.
The System 36 tournament has drawn over 100 participants whose registration already includes the green fee, tournament fee, shared golf cart, lunch, giveaways, and raffle prizes.
Hole-in-one prizes include a Jetour Ice Cream electric vehicle at Hole No. 7 (191 yards), a Segway e-scooter at Hole No. 4 (Men’s – 170 yards; Ladies – 160 yards), and PHP 100,000 in cash courtesy of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP) at a TBD hole.
Fun holes include challenges like the Longest Drive at Hole No. 18, Nearest to the Pin at Hole No. 12, Most Accurate Drive at Hole No. 9, and the Longest Putt at Hole No. 18 of this tournament sponsored by House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) led by Chairman Richard Bachmann, PAGCOR, PCSO, Rizal Park Hotel, Construction Workers Solidarity (CWS) Partylist, and JD Legaspi Construction. Other supporters include Senate President Chiz Escudero, Sen. Win Gatchalian, Cong. Erwin Tulfo, Mayor Isko Moreno, and Gov. Abdusakur Mahail Tan.
Players are required to purchase a Mulligan for PHP 500 (one for the front nine and one for the back nine), except on the putting greens. Caddie fees (PHP 500) are to be paid at the cashier’s booth during registration, and tipping is encouraged.
Organized by Samahang Plaridel, led by veteran journalist Rolando G. Estabillo (Chairman) and Evelyn Quiroz (President), the event promises an exciting mix of sportsmanship and community.
