The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) has approved significant wage increases for private sector workers in Northern Mindanao.

During a meeting on December 18, 2024, the NWPC confirmed Wage Order No. RX-23, which grants a P23 daily increase for non-agricultural workers and a P35 hike for agricultural workers.

These adjustments will raise minimum wage rates in the region to between P446 and P461, effectively eliminating the pay disparity between sectors.

The wage increase for agricultural workers will be implemented in two phases, with an initial P23 increase taking effect on January 12, 2025, followed by an additional P12 increase on July 1, 2025.

Additionally, Wage Order RX-DW-04 was affirmed, providing a P1,000 monthly salary increase for household workers or “kasambahays,” raising their minimum wage to P6,000.

In the National Capital Region (NCR), a similar wage order will increase domestic workers’ salaries by P500, bringing their monthly minimum wage to P7,000.

Nationwide, 14 regional wage boards have issued new wage orders this year, benefiting nearly 5 million private sector workers.
