Lara Posadas-Wong bags silver for Philippines in 7th Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships

Lara showcased exceptional skill throughout the competition, finishing with an impressive series of 1,353 pinfalls, averaging 225 per game over six rounds. Under the guidance of National Head Coach Jojo Canare, she overcame a tough 5th game and delivered a stellar final score of 258, securing the silver medal for the Philippines.

Wong finished with the second-best aggregate score behind Singapore’s Daphne Tan, who claimed the gold with a total of 1,382. Korea’s Baek Seung Ja took the bronze, finishing with 1,340 pinfalls.

Other Filipino athletes participating in the prestigious event include Art Barrientos, Kenneth Chua, Marc Custodio, JP Macatula, MJ San Jose, and Merwin Tan in the men’s squad, as well as Dyan Coronacion, Grace Gella, Dale Lazo, Krizziah Macatula, and Alexis Siy in the women’s team.

Supporting the team in Bangkok are Philippine Sports Commissioner Bong Coo and Philippine Bowling Federation Secretary-general Gina Avecilla, who also attended the ABF General Assembly earlier in the week.

Before their departure, the team underwent final mental training led by sports psychologist Marcus Manalo, preparing them for the high-pressure environment of the Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships.
