AT the end of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 99, Perpetual Altas has amassed nine championships from seven sports.

Five of the nine Perpetual Help crowns came from the seniors’ division, via table tennis women’s, soft tennis women’s, chess and beach volleyball men’s, courtesy of Louie Ramirez and Jeff Marapoc and the indoor men’s volleyball team, which recorded its fourth consecutive championship and 14th overall crown since 1985.

The Junior Altas, on the other hand, ruled indoor volleyball girls, 3×3 juniors basketball, table tennis (boys) and track and field, which scored back-to-back titles, led by Rookie of the Year and Season MVP Marvin Ramos.

The Junior Altas collected a total of 804.5 points in 18 events to secure their second consecutive title this season with a 153-point margin over Jose Rizal University and Arellano University, who compiled 657.25 and 503 points, respectively.

They also finished runners-up in lawn tennis (women’s), soft tennis (men’s), chess (juniors) and basketball (juniors).

Meanwhile, the Altas Perpsquad will also try to win the Cheerleading Championship on June 19, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City, aiming to end the four-year reign of the Arellano Chiefsquad.

The Altas Perpsquad wants to bring back to Las Pinas the crown following four years of bridesmaid finishes.

The Arellano Chiefs Squad collected 245.5 points in Season 98 against Perpetual’s 227.5 points to get the 4-peat.

The Dr/BGen Antonio Tamayo-owned institution hopes to list its 10th title in cheerleading.
