The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday denied the existence of any memorandum regarding the alleged cancellation of the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI).
“The circulating document is absolutely fake news and should not be considered legitimate or credible,” the PNP said in a statement posted on its social media page.
“The PNP assures its personnel that SRI for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 is already in process,” it added. The Finance Service of PNP is now working in coordination with the Police Directorate for Personnel and Records Management for the SRI to be received by qualified PNP personnel.
“Furthermore, the Fiscal Directive, already approved by the Chief PNP, is guiding the Directorate for Comptrollership (DC) to facilitate the smooth implementation and timely release of funds for SRI FY 2024,” it added. Vince Lopez
The PNP meanwhile urged the public and its ranks to be more cautious when encountering unverified information wherein they also initiated an in-depth investigation to identify the people behind the malicious act.
