DOLE slashes power consumption by 11%

THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said it reduced electricity consumption by 12,840 kilowatt-hours (kWh), cutting power use by 11.31 percent following the implementation of energy conservation measures in its offices nationwide.

DOLE said the reduction was achieved through a compressed workweek scheme and other energy-saving practices adopted in support of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive for government agencies to reduce fuel and electricity consumption by at least 10 percent under Presidential Memorandum Circular No. 114.
