The Southern Police District (SPD) has arrested 69 individuals in its continuing crackdown on drug dealing and its use in the southern part of Metro Manila.

SPD director P/Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete Jr. said that the week-long anti-narcotics operation from July 22 to 28 also led to the seizure of more than P6.7 million worth of prohibited drugs and other substances, including methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), cannabis, and kush.

Among those arrested were four high-value individuals identified only by their aliases: Ryan, 33; Analiza, 37; Marilog, 33; and Jeffrey, 39.

Members of the SPD Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust in Barangay Calzada-Tipas around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, following surveillance operations on the suspects’ illegal activities.

Seized from the suspects were 500 grams of shabu worth more than P3.4 million, a floral pouch, and the money used in the entrapment.

The pieces of evidence will be turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for proper disposition and examination.

Rosete commended his team for their dedication and commitment to eradicating illegal drugs.

“These outstanding accomplishments demonstrate the effectiveness of our intelligence-led strategy in eradicating illegal drugs from the community,” he said.

“Our efforts have been marked by significant success, which is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the men and women of the SPD. Through their persistent efforts, we are making substantial progress in our mission to create a safer community,” added the SPD chief.
