The recognition, coming within the first year of the project’s commercial operations, underscores Davao City’s commitment to innovative solutions for critical infrastructure needs and delivery of basic services. The water treatment plant is part of the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project, designed with the water-energy nexus. With an integrated hydroelectric power plant run by Aboitiz-affiliate Hedcor, the same water for power generation is treated before distribution to the water supply systems of the Davao City Water District.
