Former First Lady Imelda Marcos is already out of hospital since Wednesday and is just continuing her oral medications at home, according to her daughter, Senator Imee Marcos.

Sen. Marcos gave an update to Senate reporters on the status of her mother’s health on Thursday. She apologized for not releasing the information sooner.

Her brother, President Marcos, earlier said Mrs. Marcos is feeling much better after a bout of fever. “Pabawas na talaga ‘yung lagnat niya, by now, wala na (Her fever is really lowering, by now it’s gone),” the chief executive told reporters in Berlin, where he was on a three-day working visit.

The former First Lady and presidential mother was diagnosed with pneumonia. She stayed in the hospital for more than a week on doctors’ orders.

Despite the Marcos matriarch’s recovery, her doctors have opted to keep her under observation until she completes her prescribed antibiotic regimen.

Further, President Marcos mentioned that his mother eagerly anticipates resuming her regular activities, which indicates positive progress in her recovery.

Alam niyo naman ‘yung mother ko. Pinakamahirap para sa kanya ‘yung walang ginagawa. Kaya’t medyo nandoon na tayo ngayon. So, as I said, that’s a good sign,” the president said.

(You know my mother. It is difficult for her if she is not doing anything. So, we’re getting there now. As I said, that’s a good sign.)
