China Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xi Lian visited the Filipino Chinese Grand Family Association on Jan. 6, 2025 and lauded its efforts for uniting Filipino-Chinese clans and promoting ties between China and the Philippines.
Huang emphasized the importance of clan culture and called it a valuable part of Chinese tradition.
He said it teaches values such as respecting ancestors, honoring family and following ethical principles.
Huang also noted that the cultural heritage helps Chinese descendants, including those in Taiwan, stay connected to their roots.
The ambassador encouraged the association to continue preserving Chinese culture while adapting to modern times.
He also urged the Filipino-Chinese community to strengthen friendships between the two countries.
At the same time, he called on the community to oppose any movements supporting “Taiwan Independence” and to firmly support the One China policy.
The Filipino Chinese Grand Family Association plays an important role in promoting unity and cooperation among Filipino-Chinese families, helping strengthen the relationship between China and the Philippines.
