TUGUEGARAO City—The office of Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba copped first place in the “Gawad Kampeon ng Silid Aklatan” spearheaded by the Association of Librarians in Public Sector (ALPS, Inc.).
The award cites local government units (LGUs), individuals, organizations, and groups for their significant contributions to the promotion and expansion of public libraries throughout the country, transforming them into service-oriented institutions, knowledge development, and learning resource enters.
Mayor Joy Belmonte of Quezon City, Gov. Ramil Hernandez of Laguna, the Bangsamoro Library and Archives, and the Provincial Library of Negros Occidental also emerged as top winners out of five local chief executives from around the country.

The CPLRC has been recognized multiple times as a national awardee for its various innovations, and continues to be declared as one of the best public libraries in the country.
Last year, the National Library of the Philippines named the CPLRC as the “Most Innovative Public Library (Building/Physical Set-up” for its dynamic and innovative physical layout, as well as the “Best Program Expenditure Classification Activity for Livelihood and Employment” award for the 7th Free Civil Service Review project it presented to the Cagayanos.
