Now you can enjoy your crystallized coffee

UK’s popular brand enhances Filipino coffee drinking experience

According to the British Coffee Association, coffee is the most popular drink globally, with around two billion cups consumed every day. And it’s not surprising. Coffee provides consumers a much-needed energy boost to stay alert throughout the day. It’s also versatile and comes in different flavors that cater to people’s varying taste preferences.

The coffee brand uses 100 percent Arabica coffee sustainably sourced from the mountains of Colombia

The flavor is one of the most relevant factors of coffee that attract consumers and keep them coming back for that caffeine buzz.

Not many coffee drinkers are aware that aside from the beans used, the processing method also plays a significant role in bringing out the full flavor of the coffee.

In the Philippines, the most common coffee processing method is spray drying. Brewed coffee grounds pass through a machine that rapidly dries the mixture with hot gas. Spray drying is also the preferred method of drying food, medicine, and other items that require consistent, fine, particle size.

Although the process is cheap and fast, exposing brewed coffee to high heat causes it to lose a good amount of its quality.

There’s another coffee processing method available, and it’s called freeze-drying. Compared to spray drying, freeze-drying is more expensive and slower, but the result produces an unparalleled level of flavor and aroma.

Lyger Coffee, a UK-developed coffee brand, is the first to offer crystallized coffee to the Philippine market. The brand officially launched last February 22, Tuesday, with two flavors—Americano and Latte—under the spotlight.

Lyger Coffee comes in convenient mini cups

Made from 100 percent Arabica coffee beans, Lyger Coffee partnered with Colombian farmers to sustainably source the raw materials from the mountain ranges of the South American country.

Quality is the top priority of Lyger Coffee in producing crystallized coffee, which is why the brand uses the innovative freeze-drying method in coffee production. Freeze-drying locks in a substantial amount of quality from the ground coffee concentrate, resulting in a richer, bolder, and more aromatic coffee experience.

Named after the two fiercest felines in the animal kingdom, the lion and the tiger, Lyger Coffee is on a mission to enhance the Filipinos’ coffee drinking and making experience by emphasizing convenience and high-quality brewed coffee.

Lyger Coffee comes in a unique packaging called mini cups, creatively designed to look like coffee cups to add to the brewing experience. Each mini cup has a small amount of crystallized coffee inside, packed with the rich flavor it highlights that easily dissolves when mixed in either hot or cold water.

Convenience is also another priority on Lyger Coffee’s list. The sustainable mini cups provide a hassle-free coffee-making experience for individuals who are always on the go.

“We strive for perfection in sustainability, convenience, and design and first brought it to the Philippines as we know that the market is also very passionate about coffee while being open to doing things differently,” said Nathan Hornstein, Lyger Coffee’s chief marketing officer.

Coffee enthusiasts can enjoy both Lyger Coffee’s Americano and Latte flavors however they want—iced, hot, with milk, chocolate, spices, whipped, and more—making the possibilities endless for consumers who want to take their drink to the next level.
