Navoteños may now study for free and earn technical-vocational skills through a scholarship from Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
The scholarship is open to Navotas residents ages 18 to 55 who have finished high school.
Courses offered include Shielded Metal Arc Welding National Certificate II, Automotive Servicing NC I, and Automotive Servicing NC II.
Also offered are courses on Electronic Products Assembly and Servicing NC II, Bread & Pastry Production NC II, Dressmaking NC II, and Pastry Making NC II.
“Tech-voc skills remain in high demand and we are grateful to Tesda for providing Navoteños an opportunity to develop and master these skills so they could gain employment later on,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.
Enrollment is ongoing and will run until March 29. Only 25 students will be accommodated for each course.
Interested applicants may submit needed documents at the Navotas Manpower Training Center. The requirements include a voter’s certification from the Navotas Management Information Systems Office, 1.5 x 1.5 ID photo, and fully accomplished application form.
Earlier, Tiangco announced the on-going construction of two training centers in Brgy. North Bay Boulevard South and Brgy. Daanghari.
Among the courses that the centers will offer are housekeeping, barista, wellness massage, carpentry, visual graphics, animation, and many others.
