Plunder charges and violation of the Anti-Graft and Practices Act have been filed against Former Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairman Cristino Naguiat and 9 others.
The criminal complaints were submitted at the Department of Justice (DOJ) by group Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC).
The charges relate to the P 3.21-billion, 15-year lease of space of the former Army and Navy Club along Roxas Boulevard in Manila in which PAGCOR had intended to put up a casino.
VACC Founding Chairman Dante Jimenez claimed, “hindi pa po ginagawa yon, nagbayaran na sila ng pera. Non-existent yung nirerentahan ng PAGCOR (The casino was not yet built yet payment was already made. The place being rented was non-existent.)”
Jimenez was accompanied by VACC Board Member Arsenio Evangelista at the DOJ.
