The Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) is set to make waves once again with its 2024 edition, scheduled from October 24-27 at the World Trade Center. Since its inception in 2007, PIMS has consistently served as a launchpad for automotive innovations. In 2018, the event showcased the first electric vehicle prototypes, while notable past highlights include the introduction of clean diesel technology in 2016 and hybrid electric vehicles that set new fuel efficiency standards.
The 5th Philippine International Motor Show in 2014 was pivotal, attracting a record-breaking 90,000 attendees. This year, with an unprecedented number of brands participating, CAMPI aims to surpass that milestone. Atty. Rommel Gutierrez, CAMPI President, expressed his excitement, stating, “As this is the biggest PIMS yet, we are confident that this year’s edition will surpass our previous milestone in terms of attendance.”
Driving Growth and Consumer Interest
PIMS has played a vital role in boosting consumer interest in new vehicle models and advanced automotive technologies. A recent joint report from CAMPI and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) reveals that vehicle sales have reached 304,765 units annually, marking a 10.3% increase from 2023. Atty. Gutierrez noted, “This steady upward trend reflects sustained demand within the sector, supported by consumer confidence.”
