SM Prime, DTI partner to empower SME resilience

SM Prime Holdings (SM Prime) joined forces with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on July 1 at the SM Prime Headquarters. The MOU aims to strengthen the resilience of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) through Business Continuity Planning (BCP). By equipping mall tenant SMEs with the necessary tools to navigate disruptions, the initiative fosters a culture of preparedness within the business community

The Philippines’ frequent natural disasters necessitate a proactive approach to building resilience, especially for SMEs. This public-private partnership equips SMEs with BCP and disaster preparedness training, aligning with the Philippine government’s commitment to sustainable development and disaster risk reduction. Undertaken in collaboration with ARISE-Philippines, this initiative aims to train 6,000 SMEs nationwide on BCP from 2024 to 2027, cultivating an agile mindset across the country’s SME sector.
