PH polo players showcase skills, strengthen ties with Jeju counterparts

Polo players from the Philippines showcased their elite skills in the 1st International Jeju Polo Federation Presidential Cup, hosted by the Jeju Polo Federation (JPF) in Jeju Island, South Korea recently.

Sponsored by Neowiz and supported by the Philippine National Federation of Polo Players (PNFPP), the event took place from June 12 to June 16, with competitive matches held in an effort to foster international polo relations.

The PNFPP delegation included Pedro Roxas, the PNFPP Chairman, and its president Andrew Romualdez. Giving the delegation a boost were other team members Sebastian Cue, Jaime Ong Dimson, Patrick Antonio Cruz, Gianna Dimson, and Gabriel Ganzon..

On Saturday at the start of the competitions, Team NEO (White) defeated WIZ (Red) with a score of 2-1 in the Young Players Showcase.

NEO was led by Brandon Park, Jay Park, Hejin Na, and Gianna Dimson, while WIZ had with them Heon Na, Hyacinth Cue, Youjee Ra, Jimo Dimson.

The Transnational Exhibition Match ended in a 3-3 draw, with players from NEO composed of Yenny Hong, Gianna Dimson, Gabriel Ganzon and Danielle Lussi.

WIZ had with them SK Na, YJ Min, Jaime Dimson, Michael Kim.

The Friendly International Face-off concluded with a 4-4 draw, with NEO made up of PS Ra, Sebastian Cue, Pedro Roxas and David Ko leading the charge, and WIZ composed of Dash Yang, Andrew Romualdez, Patrick Cruz and Jerry Kwak spearheading the team.

Special recognition went to MVP Patrick Cruz and Sportsmanship Awardee Andrew Romualdez.

On Sunday, the 1st JPF Presidential Cup International Exhibition Match had NEO winning against WIZ, 5-4.

Special recognition went to Patrick Cruz, who was awarded with the Most Valuable Player, and Andrew Romualdez, who received the Sportsmanship Award.

At the end of the polo event, the PNFPP thanked the KPC Team, Jeju Polo Federation, David Ko, Jerry Kwak and SK Na for their generous hospitality.

The PNFPP’s mission is to enhance the polo experience for its esteemed members by bringing more events like the 1st International Jeju Polo Federation Presidential Cup and supporting more high-caliber tournaments that will elevate the sport.
