In a recent episode of ‘CIA with BA,’ a program that tackles real-life issues and provides legal and heartfelt advice, Jocelyn’s story captured the attention of many.
She shared in the segment ‘Case 2 Face’ about her husband Napoleon’s unfaithfulness – not just once but nine times. Despite the repeated betrayal, she chose to forgive him each time, hoping for change and a better future together.
“Siyam na beses kong nahuli tapos siyam na beses ko rin po silang pinatawad,” Jocelyn shared. “Naka-ilang akyat na po kami sa barangay, nagpa-blotter na po ako, wala, ganon pa rin po.”
Each time Jocelyn caught Napoleon cheating, she sought help and resolution. They went to the barangay multiple times and even filed blotter reports, but the cycle of betrayal continued. Her patience and forgiveness were pushed to the limit, leaving her emotionally exhausted yet still hopeful.
During a discussion, Senator Pia Cayetano reprimanded Napoleon for his repeated infidelities. Her words reflected the frustration and disappointment felt by many.
For his part, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano pointed out that it must be Jocelyn’s unconditional love for Napoleon that drove her to forgive him several times, plus the fact that Napoleon provides for the family, which Jocelyn acknowledged.
“I guess part of it is emotionally dahil syempre ‘pag nagmahal ka talaga, ‘yung buhay mo ay na-envision mo na kasama ‘yung partner [mo]. But I’d rather that she also meant it financially kasi most couples, they work together para buhayin ang pamilya,” said Ate Pia while reflecting on the case.
“And that’s where ‘yung isa kong advocacy on economic empowerment ng kababaihan comes in, which the show supports. Kasi kung ‘yon lang naman ang reason na mags-stay ka [sa relationship] na bugbog na bugbog ka na, [I encourage] girls to think of their own future, mag-aral, para may financial security ka rin para sa sarili mo,” she added.
She also clarified: “Hindi ko ina-advocate na makipaghiwalay ka, iwanan mo ‘yung asawa mo… ang aking ina-advocate is mapangalagaan mo ‘yung sarili mo, so [that] kung nagkamali ka do’n sa pinakasalan mo, kaya mong buhayin ‘yung sarili mo at kaya mong buhayin ‘yung sarili mong anak.”
Napoleon admitted to everything Jocelyn revealed and expressed remorse and a desire to change, stating that he wanted to start anew with his wife.
For his part, Kuya Alan shared his takeaway: “Yes, the truth hurts, but the lies hurt more. So either way, masasaktan si Jocelyn. Pero kung from the start, sinabi ni Napoleon, ‘Di ko ‘to mababago, etc.’ It doesn’t make it right, pero hindi sana paulit-ulit.”
“You cannot tell someone you love them and then continuously hurt them,” he stressed.
‘CIA with BA’ pledged to assist Jocelyn with her mother’s medication and her children, while Napoleon is still in the process of reassuring her that he will never cheat on her again.
‘CIA with BA’ continues the legacy of the late Senator Rene Cayetano and airs every Sunday at 11:00 p.m. on GMA7, with replays on GTV the following Saturday at 10:30 p.m.
