Soleil Misalucha, Angelica Sengco, Reiner Espiel, and Joel Jabelosa may not ring a bell yet but for Madhouse Music, a record label founded by OPM hitmaker Rannie Raymundo, they are the future of Filipino sound.

These artists joined forces on the last day of Madhouse Music Album Launch, a three-day event held at the Social House, Circuit, Makati where fans witnessed live performances of original songs.

Soleil Misalucha, who is a teacher, expressed her love for art, dancing, and songwriting. During the launch, she impressed the audience with her performance with the simultaneous playing of the guitar while singing. She also showed off her rapping skills.

Like Soleil, Angelica Sengco is also a teacher. The audience was amazed by her beautiful bossa nova sound and charming presence on stage. She also showcased her beautiful original songs.

Reiner Espiel caught the attention of the audience with his guitar skills. This multi-instrumentalist musician, who is also a music arranger, endeared the crowd with his original song creations.

The last to take centerstage was Joel Jabelosa, a songwriter whose main goal is to be able to inspire people from all walks of life with his original songs that speak about real experiences.

“These artists are sincere musicians. They are brave enough to explore new sounds. There are times that I wish I was the one who wrote their songs, as a musician myself, I admire these artists,” Raymundo shared with Manila Standard Entertainment.

“They want to make a difference. And I always tell that this man is far from over. There’s a lot of fire left in this man and I’m using that energy to help these artists introduce their sound,” he went on.

The hitmaker also appeals to call OPM (Original Pilipino Music) as OFM (Original Filipino Music) explaining that the latter encompasses all genres including songs written in other local dialects.

The young artists who will bring the future of Filipino sound

“Here at Madhouse Music Record Label, we call it OFM. With all due respect to my great mentor Danny Javier who coined OPM, we’re calling it like that because we are known globally as Filipinos, not Pilipino,” he explained.

“It’s about time that we strengthen our brand overseas,” Raymundo concluded.
