Yulo set to join fellow Paris bets in Metz training camp

Top gymnast Carlo Yulo continues to prep himself ahead of the month-long training camp in Metz, France, alongside other Filipino Olympians preparing for the Paris Games.

Despite a week’s delay from the first batch of Team Philippines athletes heading to Metz, Yulo has been diligently honing his skills at the Intramuros Training Center.

and enhancing his speed, agility, and strength at the PSC Medical Scientific Athletes Services (MSAS).

“Kailangan po tuloy-tuloy pero aalis na din po ako sa Sabado (Saturday) to join other Team Philippines members,” said the 24-year-old two-time world champion.

By enhancing his training and focusing on perfecting his routines, Yulo is setting his sights on a successful run in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Yulo is aiming for podium finishes in the All-Around, Floor Exercise, and Artistic events at the Paris Olympics’ gymnastics competition.

Yulo disclosed that he is refining specific moves in the floor exercise to distinguish himself from other competitors. “May pina-polish pa po akong moves and about chances of winning a medal, malaki po, whatever color it is,” he shared in a previous interview.

Cynthia Carrion, president of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines, believes Yulo has a strong chance to win medals in Paris—and potentially gold.

“He’s an all-around performer, and all he needs is a perfect landing in all his floor performances,” said Carrion.

In the Tokyo Olympics, Yulo fell short, missing the podium in the floor exercises and finishing fourth in the vault.
