The Mrs. Universe Philippines FDN 2024 coronation will be held at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati on Sunday. The pageant recently presented its twelve official candidates to the press, with Maria Charo Calalo, the national director of the Mrs. Universe Philippines FDN organization, presiding over the event.

The twelve candidates are Christine Serato, Graciel Suarez, Marilou Ponlaqui, Vehverly Gador, Jes-Lin Delmundo, Joy Orta, Cachet Oaman, Marie Claire Briones, Jimaymah Mayang Coching, Mikay Giselle Reymus, Marilou Rosete-Pasolo, and Catherine Muguerza.

“What I’m looking for is attitude; that is very important. I don’t want the candidates to feel afraid because the reason they are in the pageant is to bring out the best in them and to show their talent to the world. I am thankful that I found Mrs. Universe Philippines, which gives married women like me a chance,” said Calalo during the presentation.

Three winners will be chosen to represent the Philippines at the Mrs. Universe 2024 pageant in South Korea. The Coronation Night is set for this Sunday, Aug. 25 at the Mauri Ballroom of the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City.

Fil-Canadian vies for Mutya ng Pilipinas 2024 crown

A standout in the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2024 pageant is the beautiful and articulate Arianna Pantaleon, who recently spoke at a press meetup held at the Brittany Hotel in BGC, Taguig City. Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, the 21-year-old, who holds a degree in Public Speaking and Communication, proudly identifies as Filipino despite her upbringing in Canada.

Pantaleon, an advocate for anti-domestic violence awareness, previously worked for a photography company in Canada before moving to the Philippines to pursue her dreams. She won her first title as Little Miss Philippines Canada in 2012, which she credits with shaping her future aspirations. She also won Mutya ng Pilipinas Canada 2022.

“I’m thankful to be Filipino, even though I live in Canada. I enjoy those big family gatherings, especially during Christmas, feeling all the love in the household, along with the food and presents,” Pantaleon said.

“I can’t thank everyone enough—my trainers, teachers, management, family, and friends—for collectively supporting me and allowing me to become the person I am today, able to stand and speak my mind. I hope to continue making you proud as your Mutya ng Pilipinas queen,” she added.
