Lani Mercado earns Master’s degree with flying colors

Actress and Cavite 2nd District Representative Lani Mercado-Revilla has completed her Master’s degree in Sustainable Leadership and Governance with Highest Distinction from De La Salle University-Dasmariñas.

Mercado began her studies in 2022 amid her recovery from COVID-19. She balanced her academic pursuits with her duties in public service. Her coursework included projects focused on the City of Bacoor, using local initiatives as case studies. Her thesis, titled Establishing the City of Bacoor Mangrove and Ecotourism Park: Converging Governance and Nature, highlights her dedication to sustainable development.

She celebrated this milestone with her sons, Agimat Partylist Representative Bryan Revilla and Cavite First District Representative Jolo Revilla. Bryan Revilla praised his mother’s achievement, emphasizing the enduring value of education.

In her legislative work, Mercado has been a staunch advocate for educational initiatives in Bacoor. Her efforts include the approval of House Bill No. 9803, which proposes the establishment of a Cavite State University campus in Bacoor, and House Bill No. 10269, which seeks to create a National Science and Technology High School in the city. Both bills have made significant progress in the legislative process.

Mercado has also contributed to the passage of laws aimed at preserving local culture and enhancing the public education system. These include the creation of Progressive Elementary and Senior High Schools in Bacoor and national laws like the Anti-No Permit, No Exam Policy, and the Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act, which benefit students and teachers nationwide.
