IHG Hotels & Resorts, a global leader in hospitality, has announced the return of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts to the Philippines.

This move comes through a franchise agreement with Hann Philippines Inc., a prominent player in the local luxury integrated resort sector under its Hann Resorts brand.

InterContinental Clark will be located in the heart of Hann Reserve, a 450-hectare luxury estate in New Clark City, Pampanga.

The development will feature three 18-hole championship golf courses designed by Nicklaus Design, KJ Choi, and Sir Nick Faldo, along with the country’s only PGA-affiliated player development facilities.

Hann Reserve will also offer ultra-luxury residences, lifestyle commercial centers, gaming facilities, an international school, and a 10-hectare public park.

Construction of the 250-key InterContinental Clark is set to begin in 2027, with an expected opening in 2031. The hotel will cater to guests, including IHG One Rewards members.

Chris Anklin, senior director of Development at IHG Hotels & Resorts, stated: “The Philippines, with its vibrant cities, natural beauty, and warm hospitality, has been a significant market for IHG, with a strong history of successful properties in Manila, Cebu, and Makati. As the country aims to become a regional tourism hub with extensive infrastructure development, Hann Reserve exemplifies the new wave of growth we are excited to support. We are confident that InterContinental Clark will enhance its diverse offerings of leisure, lifestyle, and business options.”

Dae Sik Han, chairman and chief executive officer of Hann Philippines Inc., added: “We are thrilled to partner with IHG to bring the InterContinental brand back to the Philippines. With over 75 years of luxury heritage, InterContinental will provide a fresh perspective on luxury at Hann Reserve. We believe it will position New Clark City as a top-tier leisure destination and look forward to future collaborations with IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio to introduce new travel experiences.”

InterContinental Clark will be a 15-minute drive from Clark International Airport and two hours from Manila. The hotel will feature two restaurants, two bars, meeting spaces for up to 600 people, a Club InterContinental Lounge, a Health Club and Spa, a swimming pool, a Kids Club, and a retail outlet.

As of March 2024, IHG operates five hotels in the Philippines, including four under the Holiday Inn brand family, with plans to introduce new brands such as InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Six Senses in the near future.
