The Philippines and Canada have strengthened further bilateral defense relations, the Department of National Defense (DND) said.
According to DND spokesman Arsenio Andolong, the inaugural Defense Cooperation Working Group (DCWG) meeting hosted by the Philippines underscored mutual commitment to addressing shared security challenges and enhancing regional stability through closer collaboration.
The meeting was attended by key officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the DND, along with their Canadian counterparts.
In her opening remarks, DND Assistant Secretary for International Affairs Marita Yoro emphasized the significance of the first DCWG as a milestone in Philippine-Canadian relations.
