Marcelino’s co-accused in drug case set to be freed from jail

Yan Yi Shuo, the Chinese who was a co-accused in the drug case against former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) official Ferdinand Marcelino is set to be freed anytime Friday.

This comes following the Manila Regional Trial Court’s order for him to be released from jail.

Public Attorneys Office (PAO) Chief Persida-Rueda Acosta brought a copy of the court order dated May 18 to the Manila City Jail.

She also faced Yan on Friday morning.

Yan is wearing a white polo shirt as he awaits instructions from the jail warden.

He was nabbed along with Marcelino in an anti-drug operation conducted in Felix Huertas Street, Manila on January 21, 2016.

P 380-million worth of shabu was seized from the drug bust.

The release of Yan is a result of the Department of Justice’s withdrawal of the drug charges filed against him and Marcelino.
