Makati Mayor Abby Binay on Friday has officially filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for the Senate, prioritizing legislation to amend the local government code.
“I would like to focus on three things; improving and expanding social programs for our people particularly in health and education, and stronger local governments that are resilient and sustainable thus strengthening our nation’s capability to respond to the challenges of climate change,” she declared.
Abby Binay is included in the Marcos administration’s senatorial slate for the 2025 midterm elections, seeking to succeed her term-limited sister, Senator Nancy Binay, who will be running for mayor of Makati in the 2025 polls against Abby’s husband, incumbent Makati Congressman Luis Campos.
