Aviation police arrested on Wednesday a 28-year-old Filipino worker at the North Gate 101 Security Screening Checkpoint of Ninoy Aquino International Airport – Terminal 3 for alleged possession of marijuana during a routine security check.
The suspect, employed as a station loader with the Integrated Workers Service Cooperative and residing in Muntinlupa City, was flagged when an Aviation Security screener detected a small red pouch concealed in his waist.
Manual inspection of the pouch led to the discovery of the marijuana along with improvised drug paraphernalia.
The incident was reported to the Philippine National Police – Aviation Security Group (PNP-Avsegroup) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) K9 Team, which utilized a narcotics detection dog to conduct further inspections.
