THE Department of Justice (DOJ) has dismissed for lack of merit two complaints filed against a Filipino-Indian businessman) for alleged violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act of 2004.
In its 16-page ruling, the DOJ Prosecutor’s Office of Bohol tossed out the charges due absence of evidence to constitute a prima facie case needed to move on to trial.

“Allowing the complaint to proceed would give premium to fabrication over fact, conjecture over evidence, and narrative over proof–an outcome wholly inconsistent with the principles of due process and the orderly administration of justice,” the resolution stated.
The charge was filed against Rajiv Prem Chandiramani by his former wife.
