The Philippine Army’s 33rd Infantry (Makabayan) Battalion (33IB) has initiated a dialogue at its headquarters in Radjah Buayan, Maguindanao del Sur as part of continuing overall efforts to promote peace, understanding, and unity within the community.
According to the unit, the dialogue brought together Sukarno Ampatuan and Basco Pasawilan from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the Moro National Liberation Front.
With the support of the Rajah Buayan police station,headed by Capt. Joel Lebrilla, discussions between the two sides were conducted in an orderly and constructive manner. The talks focused on addressing issues and misunderstandings that had previously caused tension in the area.
Through open and honest discussions, both parties were able to express their concerns, sentiments, and positions, leading to a clearer understanding of each other’s perspectives. The dialogue emphasized the importance of respecting existing agreements, maintaining peace and order, and avoiding actions that could lead to violence or conflict, the Army said.
