Former Civil Service Commission (CSC) chairperson Karlo Alexei Nograles welcomed the appointment of Marilyn Barua Yap, who will replace him in the agency.
Nograles hailed President Marcos’ choice to succeed him in the CSC, confident that the commission is going to be “in good hands.”
The former CSC chief resigned from his government position to run for mayor of Davao City in the 2025 local elections.
Nograles said he already worked with Yap before when she served as Secretary General of the House of Representatives.
“I know that she (Barua Yap) is extremely competent and has an excellent work ethic, a steady hand amid turbulent waters and most of all, a strong desire to serve the Filipino people,” Nograles said on his Facebook account.
The aspiring Davao City mayor added he is confident that the newly appointed chair will improve the CSC further just like what he did when he was the chairperson.
“Again, congratulations to the newly appointed Chair Marilyn Barua-Yap,” he said.
President Marcos appointed Yap on October 16 as the ad interim chairperson of CSC, which will expire on 2029.
