44 rebel members apply for amnesty 

The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) Secretariat in Cotabato City received a total of 44 amnesty applications from members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

Along with Bangsamoro Member of Parliament (BMP) Baileng Mantawil, LAB Cotabato visited Kitango in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur, to conduct an amnesty orientation and accept applications.

To date, LAB Cotabato has received a total of 142 applications, 81 of which are from MILF members.

Meanwhile, Mantawil, together with Omar Bayao, a core member of the MILF’s Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH), and Dennis Francisco, Chief of the Ad Hoc Joint Action Group (AHJAG) in the Davao Region, visited the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) office in Davao City.

During this visit, MP Mantawil and representatives from the MILF-CCCH and AHJAG received a comprehensive orientation from the National Amnesty Commission on the Rules of Procedure (ROP) and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding amnesty applications.

The second part of the visit aimed to facilitate the amnesty applications of MILF applicants who are Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DAPECOL), which is under the Bureau of Corrections (BUCOR) in Panabo City.
