Brawner lauds troops on Cagayan campaign

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief General Romeo Brawner Jr. visited the 95th Infantry Battalion in Peñablanca, Cagayan to commend them for their successful operation against the New People’s Army (NPA). 

AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Colonel Xerxes Trinidad said the operation, which took place on September 11, resulted in the death of NPA leader Edgar M. Arbitrario and two other members, and the recovery of firearms and ammunition.

Brawner awarded the troops and underscored the AFP’s commitment to ending insurgency and ensuring national security. He encouraged the troops to remain dedicated and vigilant in their mission.

He also urged the troops to stay focused on their mission and to remain vigilant in their efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.

Brawner highlighted that the success of the operation reinforces the AFP’s strategic goals in eradicating insurgency and building a more secure and peaceful future for the nation.
