Tropical storm ‘Enteng’ has so far affected over 80,000 families, or more than 300,000 individuals, in various regions across the country, according to the latest report from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
In an interview on Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao said that over 14,000 families, equivalent to 60,000 individuals, are currently staying in evacuation centers across the affected regions.
Dumlao also reported that local government units have requested more than 150,000 family food packs in the wake of Typhoon ‘Enteng.’
Based on the latest report from the DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC), initial assistance has already been distributed to Metro Manila, Albay, Camarines Sur, Antique, Negros Occidental, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, and Western Samar.
The relief efforts include family food packs and non-food items such as family kits, hygiene kits, and kitchen kits, which have been delivered to these affected areas.
As of Tuesday morning, more than P16 million worth of humanitarian aid has been provided to those impacted by the storm.
Typhoon ‘Enteng’ impacted several areas, including Metro Manila and various parts of Luzon and Visayas.
Damaged provinces include Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Bulacan, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, Rizal, Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, Sorsogon, Antique, Negros Occidental, Biliran, Eastern Samar and Cebu City.
