MMDA: Several Metro Manila roads impassable due to floods

Numerous roads in Metro Manila are currently impassable due to flooding caused by continuous rains from Sunday night to Monday morning brought by the southwest monsoon and Typhoon ‘Enteng.’

According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), as of 11 a.m., eight-inch-deep floods were reported in the following areas:

– SM Fairview Belfast and Commonwealth University Avenue in Quezon City

– EDSA-Roxas Boulevard Intersection, Del Mundo, and Andrews Avenue Tramo in Pasay City

– Sucat Road Evacom and Dr. A. Santos Infront Olivarez College in Paranaque City

– EDSA Shaw Boulevard Tunnel in Mandaluyong City

Gutter-deep flood was also monitored in the area of Alabang-Zapote Road in Muntinlupa City.

In Mandaluyong City, ankle-deep flood was reported along F. Ortigas Street in Barangay New Zaniga.

The local government of Pasig City also reported the following roads as impassable to light vehicles:

– Legaspi (Maybunga Rainforest Park) in Barangay Maybunga

– Ortigas Extension, going to Junction

– Mariano and Kabutihan, both in Barangay Dela Paz

– Tawiran in Barangay Santolan

– Amsterdam corner Stockholm, Washington corner Burn, and Karangalan Gate 1 to Gate 5, all in Barangay Manggahan

The Manalo Bridge in Barangay Manggahan is also temporarily closed due to inclement weather conditions.

The city government advised motorists to seek alternate routes and asked people to call the Pasig City Hotline at 8643-0000 for emergencies.

Meanwhile, the MMDA announced the suspension of its Pasig River Ferry Service operation due to the bad weather conditions in Metro Manila.
