The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said guarantee letters issued under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program are now being accepted by selected funeral parlors and memorial service providers nationwide.
DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao said individuals in crisis situations, who need assistance for the burial expenses of their loved ones may request for guarantee letters from the DSWD.
“We have partner funeral homes and memorial service providers that accept DSWD-issued GLs to render the services stated in the letter,” Dumlao said.
Clients in the regions may coordinate with any DSWD field office in their areas of residence for the complete list of funeral service providers.
A guarantee letter is a document issued by the DSWD in favor of the beneficiary addressed to service providers to guarantee the payment of the service on behalf of the client, particularly their burial or medical expenses.
Several of the service providers that accept DSWD-issued GLs in Metro Manila are Almo Funeral and Mortuary Services, Inc., Cosmopolitan Memorial Chapels and Crematory, Del Mundo Funeral Services, Dr. Jesus C. Delgado Memorial Hospital, I.P. Tajuna Funeral Service, Jara Funeral Services, Kua Mads Funeral Services (Santiago’s), MBG Funeral Services, Ambassador Funeral Homes Corp., and Mesina Funeral Homes, Co.
The others are WYN Funeral Services, St. Matthew Funeral Homes, Ilagan Memorial Homes, St. James Memorial Chapel, St. Eldrich Funeral Services, Rizal Funeral Homes, Inc., Catalonia Funeral Homes, Alexandria Funeral Services, Our Lady of Loreto Funeral Services; HPT Funeral Services, Malaya Funeral Corp., Funeraria Royale, Inc., Eastern Funeral Services, Ka Andres Memorial Chapel, Dulce Memorial Service.
