One PDL dead, 2 hurt in NBP stabbing case

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has ordered the superintendents of all operating prison and penal farms in the country to take precautionary measures and ensure that no retaliation will transpire at their respective jurisdictions following a stabbing incident at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) that left an inmate, also called person deprived of liberty (PDL) dead and two others injured. 

The Bucor withheld the names of the prisoners involved in the case until their families have been duly notified.

Based on a report submitted by NBP acting superintendent Roger Boncales, the stabbing incident happened 7:15 am on Jan. 2 at the Maximum Security Camp of the NBP.

To prevent further untoward incident, the BuCor administration directed all superintendents of operating and prison farms to take precautionary measure at their respective facilitiesto ensure the safety of both persons prisoners and staff.
