The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday ordered a thorough investigation into the reported escape of dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo from the country.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla vowed that “every single individual who backed or participated in the illegal exit” of Guo will be held accountable to the full extent of the law.
He instructed Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco to come up with a report immediately.
“I am issuing this final warning against erring BI personnel who may have had a participation in the escape of Guo despite strict restrictions imposed by our government, it’s either you come out and unveil the truth or wait until I personally get to the bottom of this where heads will roll and all hell will break loose,” Remulla warned the bureau.
It can be recalled the BI assured the public last month the names “Alice Guo” and “Guo Hua Ping” were both included in the Immigration Lookout Bulletin (ILBO), which indicates the authorities will closely monitor their movement in the event the persons included therein would try to slip out of the country.
However, the BI confirmed yesterday that Guo has managed to leave the country and travel to Malaysia in July then allegedly fly to Singapore with her siblings Sheila and Wesley Guo.
Remulla added they are also looking at the possibility the camp or legal counsels of the embattled ex-mayor may have had a hand in her slippery exit from the Philippines
