BRP Jose Loor Sr (PC390), a patrol craft under the control of Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM), saw a change in leadership during a Change of Command Ceremony at Naval Station Romulo Espaldon held last Monday, August 12.

In a symbolic handover, outgoing Commanding Officer Jay Roxas passed the leadership of PC390 to his newly appointed successor, Lieutenant Commander Randolph Ramiro.

Roxas was awarded the Bronze Cross Medal for his exceptional work in enhancing maritime security in the region. He also received a Military Merit Medal from the Littoral Combat Force of the Philippine Fleet.

The BRP Jose Loor Sr. (PC390) is one of the Philippine Navy’s key patrol vessels, playing a crucial role in defending the country’s waters. Commissioned in 1997, the ship remains an important part of NFWM’s efforts to secure the region.

The ceremony was attended by Rear Admiral Francisco G. Tagamolila Jr., the Commander of NFWM, who delivered the keynote speech. Captain Hilarion Cesista, the Deputy Commander for Fleet Operations and the Commander of Naval Task Force 61, oversaw the event.
