The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has coordinated with Viber Philippines in order to restore its access to the AksyOn the Spot hotline number which the agency had tapped to expedite the processing of the printing of plastic-printed driver’s license.

LTO chief, Assistant Secretary lawyer Vigor Mendoza II said the agency’s IT personnel lost the access of the AksyOn the Spot hotline 09292920865 after it was flooded with inquiries and requests for printing of driver’s license.

As of Thursday, July 18, the number of requests and inquiries already reached more than 9,000. The LTO tapped the hotline over the weekend as a platform for around five percent of motorists who are yet to get their plastic-printed driver’s license.

Mendoza said that some of the driver’s licenses of those who tapped the AksyOn the Spot hotline 09292920865 were already processed and are just awaiting for confirmation on whether or not they would be sent to the owners via the accredited courier service of the LTO.

Mendoza earlier ordered the use of the hotline amid reports that there are still a number of motorists who are yet to get their plastic driver’s license.

Based on the LTO Chief’s instruction, motorists could send the photograph or scanned copy of the paper-printed driver’s license through the hotline’s Viber platform. Those who requested the printing via the hotline are given the option to either pick up at the LTO Central Office in Quezon City or send the plastic driver’s license through the courier service.
