PH Army welcomes 699 new privates

A total of 699 new privates of the Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) “Siklab Matatag” Class 792-2024 completed the four-month training for Army enlisted personnel, Philippine Army reported on Saturday.

According to Army Spokesperson Colonel Louie Dema-ala, the graduation ceremony was held at the Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command in Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac on Friday.

The top 1 of Siklab Matatag Class is Pvt. Camilo Chatto Jr who also received a cash gift from the Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Association, Inc. (AFPSLAI). Top 2 is Pvt. Danny Bautista Jr. followed by the top 3, Pvt. Melvin Meniano. The Physical Proficiency Award was bagged by Pvt. Jolan A. Balon with an average of 98.79%.

“The Philippine Army is currently implementing the Centralized Recruitment Program for candidate soldiers which is designed to recruit capable and qualified applicants in a systematic and efficient manner,” Dema-ala said.

The Centralized Recruitment enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of the recruitment process to ensure that the best and most qualified candidates are selected in accordance with the needs and required competencies of the Army.

TRADOC Acting Commander Brig. Gen. Danilo D. Benavides served as the ceremony Guest of Honor and Speaker who encouraged the graduating class to continue being resilient and tough in the service.

“Dito magsisimula ang inyong kaalaman, kasanayan na magagamit ninyo sa pagtupad ng inyong tungkulin. Manatiling buo ang loob, matapang para ipagtanggol ang ating kapwa Pilipino at ipagtanggol ang ating teritoryo,” he said in his remarks.
