The Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) announced on Sunday that Taiwanese companies are opening over 2,000 jobs for Filipino workers during the upcoming special one-day Job Fair and Career Expo in Isabela province on June 7.

MECO chairperson Silvestre Bello III said this event marks the beginning of a series of job matching initiatives by Taiwanese firms in the Philippines.

“We intend to have a Metro Manila wide fair for Taiwan jobs probably before the end of the year,” Bello added.

The job fair will see participation from approximately 12 Taiwanese employers, recruitment agencies, and universities, all convening in Ilagan City. They will be screening and interviewing candidates for various factory positions, caregiver roles, and even offering scholarship slots for students.

Notable companies like I-Mei Foods, a leading food processing and manufacturing firm, and SHPT Caretakers will be conducting online interviews and assessments of applicants.

Interested applicants are required to pre-register through the Department of Migrant Workers’ (DMW) registration portal, where they can also view the specific requirements and qualifications for the available jobs.

Participating agencies will perform a pre-screening of candidates before the actual job fair to streamline the process.

In addition to job vacancies, the career expo will feature scholarship offerings from at least three prestigious Taiwan universities.

Mingshin University of Science and Technology, Taipei University of Science and Technology, and Kunshan University will provide scholarships to students who qualify on June 7.
