Police are searching for a gunman who shot and killed the driver of a white SUV in the Ayala Tunnel in Makati City on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on the southbound lane of the tunnel, leading to heavy traffic along EDSA from Ayala to Ortigas Avenue for at least two hours.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will provide the police with the CCTV footage of the incident for their investigation, according to MMDA chief information officer Sharon Gentalian.
Initial reports indicate that the victim, accompanied by two other individuals in a white SUV, was fatally shot by another driver in a black car following an argument over traffic.
Makati City police commander Col. Edward Cutiyog said they are now investigating the case and a team was also deployed to track down the gunman. He added they have alerted the Police Intelligence Unit and other police stations in South Metro Manila to locate and apprehend the man.
