President Marcos, Jr. yesterday called on government agencies to expedite land distribution in the Zamboanga Peninsula to enhance agricultural productivity and improve farmers’ lives.

He emphasized the need for collaboration among agencies like the DENR’s Land Management Services and the Land Bank of the Philippines at the distribution of land titles ceremony at the Zamboanga del Norte Convention Center.

The President reiterated his directive to the Department of Agrarian Reform to hasten land title distribution to alleviate farmers’ poverty and ensure food security.

“To our register of deeds, the same goes for them. They really play a big part in what we do. In the Land Management Services of DENR, Land Bank of the Philippines, and even in our officials from different local governments here in Zamboanga, let’s just keep moving forward and working together,” President Marcos said.

“Along with my gratitude to you is the reissuance of the directive to further expedite the process of distributing titles and services to our beneficiaries. In our Agrarian Reform Program, let’s end the poverty of our farmers against the threat of hunger, against being buried in debt, and against poverty,” he added.

President Marcos distributed land titles to 4,456 agrarian reform beneficiaries during the event, expressing hope that their children would continue farming.

“I hope that you will encourage your children and their future children to continue the noble profession of farming because they are the hope of the next generation,” he said.

The President also handed over more than P15 million worth of farming tools to 15,773 beneficiaries from Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay to boost productivity.
