President Marcos has reserved a portion of land in Tondo, Manila for development by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed Proclamation No. 610 dated June 21, which amends a previous directive to allow DHSUD to own and develop Lot 4-A, Csd-00-003715, pending a final ground survey.
Under the proclamation, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary is authorized to issue a Special Patent for the area.
The proclamation also establishes a Project Inter-Agency Committee (PIAC) chaired by DHSUD, including members from the DENR and the City Government of Manila.
The PIAC will create the Implementing Rules and Regulations and identify beneficiaries for the housing component of the township development.
