Ready, reset, go

After years of trying countless diets—from low-carb and ketogenic to intermittent fasting —I’ve been on a quest to find something that works for me. Each time, I would dive in strong-willed, with so much enthusiasm, but more often than not, I found myself giving up just a few days in.

The hunger pangs would kick in, and the deprivation was too much to bear. I’ve had moments where I would question why I even started, feeling discouraged and frustrated by the lack of sustainable results.

When Pillowbread PH reached out to me about trying their reset cleanse again, I was a bit hesitant but I banked on past success. I have tried their three-day cleanse before, and unlike other programs, it left me feeling satisfied and light, rather than starved and depleted. This time, I am deciding to give it another go, hopeful that the results would be just as promising.

Based on my research, a tummy reset cleanse is important, particularly from an Ayurvedic perspective, because our digestive system is the foundation of our overall health. Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine, places great emphasis on the digestive system, or “agni,” which is considered the body’s fire. When our digestive system is out of balance, it can lead to a build-up of toxins, or “ama,” which affects our health in various ways.

Clara Day Herrera, an international yoga and meditation teacher, CEO of ADA Inc., and a UK-certified vegan and vegetarian nutrition specialist said, “My background in Ayurveda made me aware that our digestive health plays an important role in our overall health.”

The reset cleanse program features drinks and dishes which allow the digestive system to relax and detoxify

Clara has designed programs that focus on rejuvenating the digestive system. As someone who has tried both juice cleanses and bone broth programs from other brands and struggled with them, I was pleasantly surprised by how doable and effective the program was.

The cleanse program, as promised in its brochure, is designed to allow the digestive system to relax and detoxify, which in turn enhances nutrient absorption. The drinks and dishes are dairy-free, low-carb, sugar-free, gut-friendly, and gluten-free. With excitement, commitment, and trust in the process, I’m gearing up to do the two-day cleanse again this weekend.

One of the main reasons I’m so eager to do this cleanse again is the numerous benefits I discovered that come with a liquid cleanse. First, it gives your digestive system a break, which is crucial for repairing the gut lining and reducing inflammation. Second, a liquid cleanse helps to flush out toxins that have accumulated in the body, which can lead to clearer skin and improved energy levels. Third, because the cleanse is rich in nutrients, it can help boost your immune system and improve overall health. Fourth, a liquid cleanse often leads to weight loss, as it encourages the body to burn stored fat for energy. Lastly, many people, myself included, find that a liquid cleanse helps reset unhealthy eating patterns and curb cravings for processed foods.

What made this cleanse work for me the previous times I tried it? Instead of feeling deprived, I shifted my mindset and imagined my digestive system getting the vacation it deserved. This mental shift made all the difference, and by the end of the three days, I felt lighter and more energized. The program is designed in a way that you feel full and energetic throughout, which helps stave off cravings and drowsiness.

For the next two days, I’ll be nourishing my body with warm ginger turmeric drinks, peach drinks, sugar-free green slushies, and vegan soups like roasted tomato basil, and pumpkin. The option to have plant-based bulletproof coffee before 4 PM is a lifesaver, offering a gentle energy boost to keep me going. If I need a snack, I was told I can reach for sliced cucumbers or fresh strawberries, and of course, I need to be diligent about drinking 1.5-2 liters of water each day.

This cleanse has been a gamechanger for me for three years now every time I need to do a health reset but as always, it’s important to consult a doctor before getting on the program.
