Following an extensive year-long evaluation culminating in April 2024, 1st District of Cagayan de Oro Representative Lordan G. Suan was awarded the prestigious “Outstanding Public Servant” Laurel Trophy by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc., during Independence Day 2024.
According to RPMD, the accolade acknowledges his exceptional contributions throughout 2023, highlighting his leadership, transparency, efficacy, and accountability in governance.
“This recognition serves to underscore Rep. Suan’s steadfast commitment to transparency, efficacy, and accountability in governance, virtues that have emerged as defining characteristics of his tenure,” said RPMD in an announcement.
From his beginnings as a City Councilor in Cagayan de Oro City to his current role as Congressman, Suan’s journey exemplifies his dedication to his constituents’ welfare. “It is with immense gratitude and humility that, as the representative of the 1st District of Cagayan de Oro, I am deeply honored to accept the 2023 Most Outstanding Service Award bestowed upon me by RPMD Inc.” said Suan in his acceptance speech.
“My commitment remains resolute: to serve the interests of our people, uplift their individual living conditions, and create a more equitable society. Genuine service and meaningful legislation are not just buzzwords; they are the bedrock of our mission. We must ensure access to quality education, healthcare, and employment opportunities for all. I believe we all envision a world that is better than what we have now,” he added before closing. “However, we need politicians who will actively create that world for us.”
