Air Force has new chief of air staff

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) has installed BGen. Ulysses Marquez as the new Chief of Air Staff (CAS).

Prior to this appointment, Marquez served as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, AJ1 of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The CAS position was previously held in an acting capacity by BGen. Lloyd Cabacuñgan. A Joint Change of Office Ceremonies was recently held at the PAF Multi-Purpose Gymnasium of Col Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City and was presided over by the PAF Vice Commander MGen. Aristotle Gonzalesz.

The ceremonies also included key changes in other leadership positions.

Col. Robert Bitas relinquished his role as Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Command and Control, Communications, and Computer Systems (A-6) to Col. Oliver Bañaria, who previously served as the Deputy A-6. Bitas will now serve as the Deputy Wing Commander of the Tactical Operations Wing West (TOWWEST). 

Col. Sheila Marie Dauz passed on her duties as Chief of the Office of Special Studies to Col. Mak Shwen Carinngal who recently completed the Command and General Staff Course (CGSC). Dauz will assume the post as the new Commanding Officer of the Training and Development Center of the Air Education, Training and Doctrine Command (AETDC).
