The ICT subsidiary of PLDT Inc. teamed up with Google to accelerate the digital transformation of the Philippine education sector.
By onboarding its education customers to optimize Google Workspace, ePLDT said it is helping educators advance their teaching methods and collectively drive the best possible learning outcomes for their students.
Early this year, ePLDT received the Google for Education Professional Development (PD) partner status. The designation signifies that ePLDT has the expertise to guide schools and educators through product selection and even tailor solutions to their specific needs; manage deployment and configuration of Google Workspace so that schools need not worry about the technicalities of the tools; and provide ongoing support to ensure that educators are able to make the most of the tools available to them.
Google Workspace solution is an ecosystem of cloud-based tools designed for collaboration and streamlined instructions with added security features.
Among its most notable features are Google Classroom for easy lesson creation, Google Meet for video conferencing, Google Chat/Spaces for easier group collaboration and increased Google Drive storage which is essential in conveniently keeping the students’ assignments, lessons, and other instructional materials for easy access.
“Aligned with our parent company PLDT’s much broader mission to enable and empower Philippine education through innovation, ePLDT is proud to support the sector’s digitalization efforts. We are privileged to be able to play a vital role in helping advance their vision,” said Amil Azurin, vice president and head of cloud tech product management, innovations and strategic partnerships at ePLDT.
“We hope our partnership with Google will bring together the best of technology and learning to benefit our country’s students,” he said.
